South Korea’s Korea Telecom (KT) is to establish a corporate governance committee in an effort to raise the efficiency of decision making as well as strengthening transparent management. KT held the general meeting of shareholders Friday at its research and development (R&D) center located in Woomyeon-dong, Seoul.
The most noticeable issue raised during the meeting was the amendment of articles of incorporation for creating the committee, which is composed of four advisers from outside the company and one adviser inside the company.
The committee will deliberate on the overall corporate governance of KT. This is regarded as KT’s effort to lay out more efficient corporate governance even if its excellence in corporate governance has been recognized.
